Ever thought about a short, relaxing trip away to Iceland? Well now might be your chance after Cardiff Airport’s announcement to fly direct to Iceland as of 2018. The Welsh airport is offering the chance for UK holidaymakers to fly to Akureyri in North Iceland.
However here’s that headlining catch….
Following on with the one-of-a-kind flight opportunity theme, this flight is only a one-off journey, departing on January 12th. The flights are part of a 3-night holiday package that is expected to catch the eyes of UK holidaymakers and sitting firmly at the top of many people’s bucket lists.
Iceland has a great variety of attractions and areas to visit, Akureyri, Iceland lively second city, visitors are able to checkout volcanoes, lava walks, beer spa, visiting Lake Myvatn, Goddafoss Waterfall and the boiling mud pools of Namafjall.
Deb Barber, Chief Executive of Cardiff Airport said: “Cardiff Airport is thrilled to be connecting Wales with Akureryri and Northern Iceland for the very first time. This is exciting for passengers who want to get off the beaten track and experience a once in a lifetime adventure.”
The pre-organised trips are run by Super Break, with getaways starting from £699 per person. Holidaymakers are able to choose from a huge variety of additional action-packed activities, including;
· Whale watching – head out to Eeyjafjörður with high chances to see the local humpback whales, harbour porpoises and dolphins
· Icelandic horse riding where you can travel across coasts and into the scenic mountains
· Lofthellir Ice Cave Winter Challenge – an amazing lava cave filled with ice formations, stalagmites and sculptures.
